Well , i have just watched the new programme on Bid TV . Did you watch and if so what did you think ? Did you buy anything ?
I watched the Cuttlebug with interest , but they got it all wrong . One minute it said it came with five plates ? Then it said it came with three plates including one B Plate and one C Plate . However they were using two B Plates and no C Plate . The C Plate does not come with the new version of the cuttlebug , so both sets of descriptions were very wrong and misleading for anyone buying the machine .
Did you notice this ?
Presenting a programme will only work if you know everything about the product you are talking about , otherwise i see little point in promoting something you know nothing about .
Post your thoughts here ?
Gordon
ps...I have been reading the comments on the Docrafts forum ..I always look around to see what is going on ....
Hi Gordon, taped program to watch later. Didn't actually notice the mistakes they made, but then didn't matter because I wouldn't buy anything from those two because I don't trust them. Haven't actually experienced their scheming ways myself but know of people who have. Must admit when they were on C/C many years ago I did find them quite funny, but then I went to the NEC and saw them there and everything was fine until one of them said a very rude remark about a lady who had just spent quite a lot of money with them,it was relating to her weight, talk about pot calling kettle, she didn't hear it, but made me realise they are not so genuine as they lead you to believe.
ReplyDeleteAnyway onto better things and more genuine people, can't wait for your new site and also your fabby machine. Please let us know when you go on the road to demonstrate. I have left a deposit with you but just want to see it again. Hugs Annette xxx
Hi Annette. I just wanted to make sure the mistakes made in the programme were clarified in case anyone bought from them. I dont think the format of the show did them any favours . As to the new web site...aaahhhh. lol..looks like we have almost solved the final problem , but we now have two large shows looming back to back in the next two weeks , so we may wait until thes are out of the way before we activate the site. Sales of the machine are going extremely well in all colours . We cant wait to get it over here and show off the colours . Everything i do always seems to take longer that i would like ...guess thats just the way these things go. Justin and i are off to China shortly to finalise things ...a business trip of course ..honestly !...lol . Gordon
DeleteIs your new machi
ReplyDeletee A4. if so. I can wait ...............
Hi Judith
DeleteYes if you read back on the posts , you will see it is A4 in size and can take almost every make of die , stencil and embossing folders all with the use of only two plates.
Gordon
A little bit off topic for this post but I just spotted you are making your own range of embossing folders. I have recently invested in a Big Shot Pro as I dont quite trust my Calibur - I'm on my second as the first fell apart but I will probably keep it as well as the pro as its a tad more portable - although do wish your machine had come out a little earlier as I would definitely have gone for that instead of the Calibur! I like the sound of the adjustable rollers. Anyway what I am struggling to find is a larger brick or stonework pattern embossing folder to use with my window dies. I have one small Tim Holtz one and also a 5x7 but on both the design runs vertically - I cannot turn them sideways to use with my wider window dies and the designs arent really ones where I could extend the pattern. An 8x8 or better still A4 would solve the problem - is that a design you might consider doing please?
ReplyDeleteHi
DeleteWe are still looking at the embossing folder issue . We will be restricted by the pesky setting up costs for each design and each size , so we are treading carefully at the moment. I undestand what it is you are looking for and i know such patterns are always very popular . We have lots to consider at the moment but you never know. Gordon
Hi Gordon. I recorded the programme just out of interest and have just watched it. I did noticed the error re the cuttlebug plates and also many others. I wonder how many people bought from them with all the negative remarks being put on forums. May just record it on Thursday just for the amusement, but definitely won't be buying. Lucky you going to China, I have been twice recently, it is my favourite holiday destination. Pity you are on a 'business trip'. Hope to see you at NEC? SueL
ReplyDeleteHi Sue
DeleteTo be honest its all a great shame really , however far too many mistakes were made throughout the programme. I was completely confused about the chocolate and what you actually were getting for your money . They just did not know what they were talking about . I think the format was all wrong im afraid. When we were approached about this new venture when we were at the UK trade show , we had high hopes from what we were told ( we knew nothing of alan and barry ) . We watched half hoping it would be interesting ...what can i say . We look forward to seeing you at the NEC. We have a very small stand just inside the entrance next to Pinflair to show off the new machine.Gordon
I AM SORRY I NEVER WATCHED HELL WOULD FREEZE OVER BEFORE I WOULD WANT THEM TWO IN MY LOUNGE ON MY TV I WONT BE GIVING THEM MY CUSTOM
ReplyDeleteWatched out of sheer curiousity and found it very infantile. Of all the talented craft people out there who the hell picked those two. I will never complain about a C&C presenter ever again!!!
ReplyDeleteI watched a little of the show but switched off as it made me cringe. I feel as though thy have not moved on from their C&C days. I am so sorry you can't sell your machine or dies on Create and craft as it is a fantastic place for finding a wider audience. Are you planning on putting a demo of youe new machine on the internet. Enjoy China.
ReplyDeleteWhen the new web site goes live and the machines begin to arrive we do plan to have some vids made.Gordon
Deletei know of several friends who were actually BANNED from posting about a and b..on fb!!! it was on alan and barry.s site.
ReplyDeletethe programme was so wrong on many counts, childish behaviour and just not professional..heaven help anyone who ordered!
I agree , it was all just a great big mess , such a shame really.
DeleteWell what can i say umm!!! somethings get better with age so they say,, well not as far as those two people go,i taped it and got shut of it after less than 5mins of veiwing,,all i can say is utter utter rubbish,i wonder how long it will last .So you must have guessed by now i will not e switching on again to watch, watching paint is far more intresting xx
ReplyDeleteOh, Dear....I "missed it" on Tuesday...So made a point of watching today !!!What a mess. Oh, well, I now know NEVER to bother watching ever again...in fact it was an embarrasment to crafting. And I was the one who said they had helped me 12 years ago, when they were first on Ideal World....It's obvious they are well past "it". Jen.
DeleteWatched them today fro about 3mins. What a load of rubbish! They should be embarrassed about the way they act. I was surprised to see a guest on there with her face shown. Will NOT watch again.
DeleteI also watched again today and once again it was far from being good . This type of shopping channel format does not help. It all sounded so promising when we were approached about all of this . I do hope BID TV are reading all of this . I have there contact details and i have told them to read through all of the comments posted here on this subject .Gordon
ReplyDeleteI am really pleased to read these comments which make me thankful I didn't bother recording. Even if it had gone well I still wouldn't have bought from them. Kim Sutton has suggested this is a lifeline for her and she has been invited back next week. I won't be watching until A&B are removed from any connection with the company
ReplyDeleteI agree with what you say here , especially about Kim . She is making a really bad mistake and people should tell her so. I hope she realises this is not the route to success , quite the opposite im afraid. Gordon
DeleteWho could possibly want to buy any of the rubbish they were selling. It was so past it's sell buy date just like a+b they are a joke.
ReplyDeleteI could not believe what they were selling it was so past it's sell by date just like Alan and Barry. What a joke they are.
ReplyDeleteHi Leonie
DeleteI agree , but the only thing i will add in there defence ( if there is to be such a thing ) is the fact that they are not responsible for the buying on the programme. We were approached ourselves for the buyer of bid tv . However if Alan and Barry themselves were wise , they would refuse to sell these poor products or at least demand an input .Whether this would make a difference i really doubt . This could all have been much much better and bid tv have lost a huge opportunity here . Gordon
The Alan and Barry amateur hour was extremely painfull to watch and not just because they are out of practice. The fact that they think the same act is still funny is very sad,
ReplyDeleteAlan .... I'll slap his legs in a minute.
Barry .... leans forward with a concerned look on my face.
Both .... the stock has gone limited we have now entered the dark zone.
I feel so sorry for the pair of them, they really should have stayed retired.
I won't be watching again.
Yes I did...EURRGH. Never again. Mabe
ReplyDeleteThese two were never going to be any good and sooo lived up to my expectations. They were just the same, if not worse as they were on C&C. Totally rubbish. It really is time they started acting their age and not their shoe size. Whatever made Kim align herself with them I'll never understand. I don't think any self-respecting crafter will bother watching them. I certainly won't.
ReplyDeleteHi Gordon
ReplyDeleteMy name is Brenda and I wrote the comment about The Alan & Barry amateur hour.
Sorry I forgot to sign it.

Surely less irritating than Stephanie Weightman. I know her business has also gone pop but I would relish a show with this chubby twosome rather than yet another hard sell on C&C with their new number one salesperson.
