  1. Dies that are bigger than Nestabilities but will still fit through the Cuttlebug. Basic and fancy edged shapes like squares, circles, ovals and rectangles but just a bit bigger as quite often go to die cut an image I have stamped or printed to find it wont quite fit inside my Nestie.

  2. I tend to make a lot of A5 cards as they are cheaper to post. A set of A5 nested shapes would be fantastic as most are either too narrow or too short.

  3. Definately A5 ish size dies I also find nesties sometimes just that little bit too small for stamped images. As far as colour goes I don't think it really matters but I do love green lol and it would be a move away from the pinks and purples. Can't wait to see the new machine and dies xx

  4. I personally make a lot of 8 x 8 cards at the moment so some nice square fancy shapes would be nice that would either fit an 8x8 & then the smaller ones would fit a 6x 6 etc. Colour isn't important but what about a colour that will tie in with the new A4 machine.

  5. I would like larger size dies as well. I have used Happycut dies by Artemio and after sometimes just using them once found that the paint/enamel chipped off and marked the card.
I am not bothered about the colour of dies but would be wary about buying them if they were painted/enamelled.

  6. I agree about A5'ish dies - Nesties are often too small for stamped images. I also feel really cheated when I buy a 'nesting' set, only to find that the gap isn't proportional all the way round (eg there's a bigger gap at the top than at the sides, or vice versa), making them worse than useless for layering. I also like nesting dies where there's only a very small difference in size between one layer and the next. Also, with fancy shaped dies, it would be fantastic to have a matching plain 'backing' die (preferably marginally larger than the ornate top one) to layer it onto, as it's often far too time-consuming (and tricky!) to cut a matching one by hand. Colour really isn't important to me - it's the shapes and sizes that matter.

Wishing you lots of luck with your new venture Gordon!

  7. Hi Gordon,
Birds, Trees, Butterflies, Vintage type transport, ie penny farthings, vintage cars, clocks. Not worried about size. Color, think probably a muted color would be best probably greyish, I think too bright a color would make them look cheap. Hugs Annette x

  8. Maybe a set that includes say circles plain and fancy so that they can all matt and layer together perhaps a set of 6.

  10. 8x8 square based designs down to 6x6 perfect , and circles etc same sizes hope this helps also. Pistons and chains to go with some fancy cogs think steam punk.

  11. Dies I can use for cutting material. Animals, birds, trees, leaves etc. Reasonably sized, that is not very small. I do not make cards and I already have masses of Spellbinder frames which do not get as much use as they should.
I also like the type of dies which cut around matching stamped images, but without leaving a white edge, which some of them do. Some American (Canadian?) stamp companies such as Local King Rubber stamps do great ranges where the dies cut out very close to their images. I think their dies are actually made by Spellbinders.

    1. thank you . with the addition of a special plate we believe the new A4 machine will cut fabric . We will make a posting on this matter once we have conducted some tests on the machine. Gordon

  12. What about a hand bag Size about 3 ins wide and a shoe hight 3ins. I get asked for fashin alot, and the ones I bought years ago are much to small to be the main aspect of a card. the A 5 nesties and the 8x8 6x6 ones sound great to.
Good luck with this new venture, cant wait to see them when they're ready.

  13. What I need and haven't found so far in existing dies are nesting dies to mat 6x4" photos. Certainly the basic (rectangular dies) in 1/8, 1/4, 3/8,1/2 etc.. but also fancy shapes in those proportions. I have checked the latest Spellbinders offering and the new 5x7" don't fill that gap.
Also I have wanted corner dies, not to cut corners to stick on but to cut slots in a mat, in the manner of the Sizzix Movers and shapers but in a thin die.
As to colour I have no preference.
As to size it really depends on what I would use it for ! But if 12x12 is possible some decorative frames in 12x12, or half frames (2 sides)as well as 8x8 would be great.

  14. Sorry, I forgot to say in my earlier message that decorative squares and circles 6" to 8" would also be fantastic (with marginally larger backing dies to match if possible). Also embossing/cutting inserts - along the lines of Spellbinders inserts, but very thin decorative square or round ones instead that you could use with your existing plain square and circle dies to enhance them. Thanks for including us Gordon. Wendy x

  15. I would love a set with happy birthday and other messages that would be big enough to make the sentiment the main feature on a card with some small flowers just to add finishing touches. I think they would be really useful and think they would be popular. Pretty please !!

  16. Would love more of the edging dies like the ones I got from you at November NEC. They give such a different look to my cards and more designs would allow me to do so much more. No colour prefference but coloured to indicate size is a good idea. Thanks for asking our oppinion

  18. Hi Gordon
I have had an idea for sets of dies which have things which go together for each card
    Eg
A greeting such as birthday wishes with a cup cake die a candle and a cherry
New home greeting a house die a small tree and maybe a doormat to stamp a greeting on too
Get well wishes with a vase and some small flowers and a fruit bowl
Good luck greeting with a window curtains and a cat
I could think of more but think you will get the idea from these suggestions. I don't think I have seen this idea anywhere else so it may prove popular
So looking forward to your new blog now

  19. Hi Gordon, I would love some more dies that are good for mens cards, I recently purchased the new fishing dies from Joy crafts, they are good but really tiny so only any good for tiny cards. So I would like the dies to be big enough for cards and scrapbook layouts..

Im also loving the stamp and die sets, so you can stamp your item and then die cut it, it looks so professional.

    I would like

A fishing set = reel, rod, fish, maybee a fishing basket and fisherman

A car set - cars, tyre. steering wheel, number plate (a stamp set could fill number plate with various greetings) and maybe a map.

A motorbike themed set - bike, helmet, gloves, boots etc

A DIY Set = Hammer, nails, screwdriver, drill, spanner, saw, tool box etc

Lol I could probably go on all day, but I don't want to bore you to death

    Helen x

  21. I would like a nice teddy bear die. As to colour, I feel something easy to spot among the craft stash would be useful but not pink.

  22. i have the fishing dies by joy too and agree...larger sized ones would be great..

would also love to see Scotish and other British themed items...recently purchased a set from usa which seems terrible !!!

what about some nice thistle dies. castle dies, bridge dies..etc..

  23. Hi Gordon,

I like the sound of Helen's car set idea.

I'd also like to see a die for wedding place settings - perhaps one with a cut for a pop-up on the fold, maybe a couple of hearts for example.

As to the colour - please don't use silver - I have a few problems with some of my older silver dies - they are going rusty! I have two different makes of silver dies with this problem - so I think maybe the problem is down to the way I have used them - either they don't like tumble dry sheets rubbed over them or the blue-tac I have used to remove the die cuts from them - I'm wondering if the tumble dry sheets or blue-tac contain salt. Either way it seems to have only affected my silver dies. A nice light colour that doesn't come off on white card would be ideal.

Good luck with the new machine - it sounds awesome. There is definately a market for a stronger, more robust machine.
